Age Limit – Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years
Minimum Educational Qualification
Police Constable (Communication) – Must have passed SSC or any other examination recognized by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Electronic, Mechanic OR Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance OR Computer Operator and Programming Assistant OR Mechanic Consumer Electronics OR Electrician OR Vocational Intermediate in a) EET (Electronic Engineering Technician) b) ET (Electrical Technician) (old name Electrical Wiring and Servicing of Electrical applications (E.W & SEA) after SSC)
Police Constable (Civil, AR, (SAR CPL, TSSP, SPF, Fire Service) – The candidate must hold, Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government. In the case of a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, he/she must have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government and should have studied Intermediate and appeared for the Intermediate Examinations in both the 1st year and 2nd year.
Medical Standards Eye Sight – Visual Standards required for the above selection shall be as follows

Payment of Fee – The applicants belonging to OCs/BCs shall pay a fee of Rs. 400/- and those belonging to SCs/STs shall pay a fee of Rs.200/- towards Application Processing and Examinations.
Preliminary Written Test – All the eligible candidates applied for the various posts, shall be required to appear for the Preliminary Written Test in one paper (three hours duration) for 200 marks, The minimum marks to be secured by the candidates in order to qualify in the Preliminary Written Test in the paper is 40% for OCs, 35% for BCs and 30% for SCs/STs/Ex-Servicemen.
Physical Measurements Test (PMT) – The candidates qualified in the above preliminary written test have to undergo Physical Measurements Test and should meet the following requirements.
for men Height | Must not be less than 167.6 cms. |
for men Chest | Must not be less than 86.3 cms round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. |
for women Height | Must not be less than 152.5 cms |
Physical Measurements Test (PMT) – Scheduled Tribes and Aboriginal Tribes in the Agency Areas

for men Chest | Must not be less than 80 cms round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 3 cms. |

Selection Procedure – Candidates will be selected based on their performance in Preliminary selection Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Written Examination.
Preliminary Selection Test – In selection test, candidates have to run for 2.5 Kms within 16 minutes for Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (Civil, AR) (Women) in Police Department and run for Five (5) kms with in 25 minutes for remaining all posts
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – The candidates who qualify in the preliminary selection test and who possess the minimum physical standards will required to under go the 100 meters Run, Long jump, Short Put (7.26 Kgs/ 4 kgs), High jump, 800 metres run in the specified duration of time/ distance according to the desires post.
Written Examination – Candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will be required to appear for a written examination for maximum of 200/100 Marks in three hours duration. The minimum marks to be secured by a candidates in order to qualify in the written examination is 40% for OCs; 35% for BCs; and 30% for SCs/STs and Ex.Servicemen.

For Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) Police Constables (Civil – AR Men or Women ), Firemen – The final selection will be strictly on relative merit of the candidates in each category, as obtained by them based on their score in the written examination out of a maximum of 200 marks
For Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constable (AR) (Men) in Police Department – The final selection will be strictly on relative merit of the candidates in each category, as obtained by them based on their score out of a maximum of 175 marks in physical efficiency test (75 marks) and written examination (100 marks).
For Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constable (APSP) (Men) in Police Department & Constables (Men) in Special Protection Force (SPF) Department – The final selection will be strictly on relative merit of the candidates in each category, as obtained by them based on their score out of a maximum of 175 marks in physical efficiency test (75 marks) and written examination (100 marks). As per the provisions of “The Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local cadres and regulation of direct recruitment) Order, 1975”, the rule of reservation to local candidates is not applicable.
